IWB

Posted by Yassine on August 11, 2007

I have been a member of dogme Yahoo! group for sometime. It is a group of educators who

are looking for ways of exploiting the learning opportunities offered by the raw material of the classroom, that is the language that emerges from the needs, interests, concerns and desires of the people in the room.

For the past few days a discussion about Interactive White Boeards was raised by Sctott Thornbury. It all started when Scott suggested that “IWBs may become”interactive white elephants”. Especially when they seem to be used primarily to deliver grammar mcnuggets.”

You can follow the discussion here but before you join the discussion here are things you should know about IWB:

  • What’s an IWB?
Also called Smart board (this one is a trademark). The Internet is full of definitions and articles about it and here is my pick from wiki, Youtube, TeachingEnglish, google, and a case study.
  • A demo of how interactive white boards work

Happy Whiteboarding!
